In Memory of Ray Jarris
Our Sea Scout Ship Propeller community is saddened by the loss of our long-time friend and Committee member Ray Jarris. Ray began volunteering with the Sea Scouts when his daughter Emily joined the program, and continued his involvement and support until the end. We appreciate his dedication to the maritime industry and the Propeller, and share our condolences and sympathy with his family. More photos are on the page linked below.
Ray wished that any memorial remembrances would benefit the Sea Scout Ship Propeller, and we are so humbled and grateful! For those who desire to honor Ray in this way, checks to the SSS Propeller can be mailed to our treasurer at:

Spencer V. Brewer
May 29, 1996 - June 29, 2016
The SSS Propeller family is grieving the loss of a crew member and friend. Spencer Brewer, age 20, died in a work-related accident on a barge in Alaska. Spencer loved the sea. We are proud of him for following his dreams, and devastated that the sea has claimed him for it's own. We will miss his joy, laughter, hard work, and genuine personality.
A celebration of Spencer's life was Saturday, July 16, at 1:00 pm in the Shorecrest High School Theater. 15343 25th Ave, Shoreline, WA 98155. Reception followed in school Commons. We are humbled, and very honored, that Spencer's family asked that donations to the SSS Propeller program be made in lieu of flowers.
